RBC sedimentation: An effective test that can be used to detect the rheumatic arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a severe disease associated with the joints. It is a hazardous disease but it can be controlled. The disease can be hazardous once it is neglected. It may put you to a permanent disability and severe deformities of your limbs and the joints.

So what is rheumatoid arthritis in detail? It is the swelling of the joints due to infections. This disease can be considered as a symmetrical disease. Once your left joint has got the disease your right joint also may catch the disease.

One of the most common rheumatoid arthritis symptoms are joint pain. Warmth, redness, tenderness of the joints may be some of the other rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. However these symptoms may vary with the severity of the disease. Women population is highly prone to this disease than men.

If this disease is not properly treated it may lead to hazardous conditions. Sometimes the patient may experience stiffness in the morning with the onset of this disease.

Beyond the joints there are some other symptoms associated with this disease. Sometimes the patient may feel fatigue or tiredness with difficulty towards the daily activities. The body may experience a low grade fever with the onset of this disease. Altogether with these symptoms the patient may feel decreased quality of life.

This joint inflammatory disease can be diagnosed with the severity of the inflammation. If any inflammation is present in the human body these inflammatory substances are bound to the Red Blood Corpuscle (RBC) walls. This will make the RBC heavier than the usually. The heaviest red blood corpuscles precipitate quickly than the normal RBC. Another famous method is detecting the C-reactive protein present in the blood samples. If the CRP protein level of the blood is higher in the patients with arthritis there is a high risk to the patient.
